Toronto visual polymath, Atalia Charles uses her years of experience into creating meaningful visual artwork. For more than ten years, she's honed her skills across various genres of photography, from commercial to portraits, capturing moments that tell stories and evoke emotions. However, it wasn't until recently that she found herself drawn to the world of maternity photography.
The turning point came when she had the opportunity to photograph a dear cousin's maternity shoot. Despite her extensive experience, she approached this session with a sense of curiosity and openness, not fully anticipating the profound impact it would have on her.
As she watched her cousin glow with the radiance of impending motherhood, Atalia was captivated by the raw beauty and genuine emotion that permeated in her photos. As a new mother, having welcomed her baby boy in 2023, she finds profound joy in capturing the tender moments, the quiet anticipation, and the deep connection between mother and child.
With every maternity session she undertakes, Atalia is humbled by the privilege of capturing and preserving the miracle of life through her lens. After earning her Creative Photography degree from Humber College, Atalia leverages her diverse skill set, including photo retouching and editing, to bring her clients' visions to life. Inspired by luminaries such as Chenman, the acclaimed visual artist and photographer, and Beyoncé, renowned for her visually captivating work, Atalia is drawn to their meticulous attention to detail and their ability to create compelling pieces.
